SoftLayer Engineers will be conducting maintenance on the SoftLayer Global Backbone in an effort to better optimize traffic traversing various links in/out/through of the Dallas facility.  During this maintenance, Engineers will be building various LSPs (label switched paths) within the MPLS backbone.  Because these paths carry public and private traffic, the following services may see sporatic latency and/or packetloss during this maintenance:

- Public network connectivity in/out of the Dallas facility destined for other datacenters or POPs with peering.
- Private network connectivity in/out of the Dallas facility destined for Seattle or Washington, DC.

As always, Engineers will make every attempt to mitigate the impact to customer traffic; however, this notice was sent out to all customers to ensure there was no confusion in the event of degraded service for the duration of this maintenance.
